Unlocking Climate Solutions

A Learning Resource for Blockchain-Enabled

Climate Solutions Initiatives

Thank you to the Ethereum Foundation for your kind support for this work. Of all the blockchains used by the organizations we interviewed for this site and related reports one thing was clear, all roads lead back to Ethereum as the most commonly used chain (including layer 2 chains). The leadership from the Ethereum community in facilitating "the merge" is documented in our what is a blockchain page and has been an incredibly important thing to reference to help those outside of web3 understand the importance of this transition to proof-of-stake.

Our mission is to help the world stop climate change—as quickly, effectively, and equitably as possible. as part of this work we are exploring how technologies like Blockchain Applications can be used to help reach this goal.  Our intent is to have frank Discussions about the problems faced in specific categories of climate solutions initiatives and ways new or existing technologies could help unlock real world change.

Ethereum and related blockchains being open source, decentralized and transparent, offers innovative opportunities for monitoring, incentivizing, and implementing Important climate solutions initiatives.

Blockchain technology can be an effective tool for those that want to create a more accountable, efficient, and collaborative approaches to tackling climate change on a global scale. There is no silver bullet and we could be doing a lot more with the technology we already have, but sometimes new new forms of technology facilitate a cultural shift that has broad implications. We hope you will join us in this open dialogue and co-learning process.
